The 13th Australasian Biomechanics Conference (ABC13) will be held in Brisbane from 27th to 29th November, 2022. We are looking forward to three days of biomechanics, innovation, translation and transformation.

ABC13 acknowledges the Turrbal and Yugara as the First Nations owners of the lands where this meeting will take place (QUT Gardens Point). We pay respect to their Elders, lores, customs and creation spirits. We recognise that these lands have always been places of teaching, research and learning. ABC13 acknowledges the important role Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people play within the scientific community.


Important Presentation details: 

All individual oral presentations are 8 minutes in length plus two (2) minutes for Questions and Answers. We anticipate that these sessions will spark lively discussion and audience participation. There will be a session chair who will advise you of the time remaining during your presentation, and we ask that you kindly observe the time restrictions out of respect for other presenters.


The meeting room will be equipped with a:

  • Projector and screen (please use 16:9 slide ratio)
  • Lectern microphone
  • Laser pointer and slide advancer

Please bring your presentation on a USB, as you will be asked to upload your slides on the meeting room computer to ensure smooth and prompt transitions between speakers. We strongly advise for you to test your presentation in advance of your session to ensure that all slides/images/videos are working properly.

All poster presentations will be done on digital poster platforms. All poster presentaters should have receieved an email with specific instructions. If you have not received this, please contact the organisers via email (abc13@qut.edu.au).

Early and Mid-Career Researcher Retreat

We welcome all ANZSB members who identify as an Early and Mid-Career Researchers to attend our Retreat aimed at building meaningful collaborations within our EMCR community. There will be an EMCR dinner the night before the conference opening followed by -

  • Research workshop (Sunday 8.30am – 10.30am)
  • Teaching workshop (Sunday 11am – 1pm)
